Born in Darwin, Annanias grew up on Manmoyi, a remote outstation located on the margins of the Arnhem Land plateau on the middle reaches of the Mann River and 200km from Oenpelli.

Annanias learned to paint originally from his father, but his grandfather mentored him to hone his skills. Annanias paints for many galleries across the top end of the Northern Territory. He paints bush tucker - turtle, fish, Mimi spirits, Lightning men, and saltwater crocodile.

He uses traditional and contemporary motifs to represent his country, culture and creation stories.

Annanias currently lives at Kybrook community outside of Pine Creek in the Northern Territory.
